Freelance Writing Tips to Encourage, Inspire and Motivate

About Kathryn Lang

Kathryn Lang – Freelance Writer

Writing is my passion. It has been since as far back as I can remember. I began journaling when I was still in elementary school and writing short stories and poems not long after that. Become a freelance writer has been a dream and a goal of mine since that time.

It was only in the last few years that I have discovered some of the keys to freelance writing. I have used those keys to unlock a career in freelance writing that is allowing me to live a life of joy and peace. Working from home allows me to plan around my family so that work does not dictate my life.

My Marriage – Chasing Down our Purpose

Keith and I have been married since 1993, but we have been in love since almost a decade before that. Once I quit running from his unconditional love, God began to grow and mold us into a unified couple that can walk in His will and fulfill our purpose.

Keith fully supports my freelance writing and has started pursuing his own passion and dreams through my support as well. He is a gifted dramatic artist and is sharing that gift through classes, workshops and presentations.

Our Family – Working as One

We have a family full of active boys that are home schooled. We spend around three hours each day doing all of the basic subjects, we have family bible study and prayer time twice a day, and we play together – games, cards or outside. I use our walk as a family in all aspects of my freelance writing – from my blogs to my manuscripts.

Every week we spend time with other families at church, scouts, choir, field trips and play days. Most days it is truly a blessing to be together all the time. Rainy days and cold days are just chaotic enough to have us all rethinking the plan.

My Purpose – Showing Others the Path to Passion

It is my hearts desire to help others fulfill their passions and dreams. Freelance writing has opened doors for me that I would never have imagined. Not only is writing my career, but the more experience I gain and the knowledge I uncover then the more opportunities I can open for others.
